- The BYD Ocean lineup will launch 11 models equipped with advanced smart driving systems.
- The Seagull, currently priced at RMB 69,800 (US$9,550), will carry an advanced smart driving system.

Hours before BYD's (HKG: 1211, OTCMKTS: BYDDY) vehicle intelligence strategy launch event begins, the heads of its two main product lineups have offered some previews.
At the event, which starts at 7:30 pm Beijing time tonight, BYD's Ocean lineup will launch 11 models equipped with the "God's Eye" advanced intelligent driver assistance system, the lineup's head of sales, Zhang Zhuo, said in a Weibo post today.
The BYD-branded passenger cars include the Ocean lineup, which is named after ships and sea creatures, and the Dynasty lineup, which is named after Chinese historical dynasties.
The BYD Seagull will be equipped with a smart driving system, bringing high-level smart driving into the era of affordability for everyone, Zhang said.
The Seagull is an A0-class electric vehicle based on the BYD e-Platform 3.0 and is the BYD Group's least expensive, currently starting at RMB 69,800 ($9,550) in China.
Lu Tian, head of sales for BYD's Dynasty lineup, said on Weibo today that the lineup's six families -- Han, Tang, Qin, Song, Yuan, and Xia -- will see a complete upgrade.
The second-generation Qin Plus will be upgraded to fifth-generation DM technology and has a new exterior and interior, Lu said, adding that the Tang DM-i smart driving edition will come standard with high-level smart driving features.
BYD announced on February 6 that it would hold a vehicle intelligence strategy launch event on February 10 at 7:30 pm Beijing time at its global headquarters in Shenzhen, Guangdong province.
The company's "God's Eye" system will usher in a new era of intelligent driving, allowing everyone to enjoy advanced intelligent driving, it said.
In a February 7 research note, Goldman Sachs analyst Tina Hou's team said BYD may talk at the event about the near-term road-testing experience of the God's Eye city NOA feature, plans for new models with self-driving capabilities, and updates to self-driving technology, including LiDAR approach and pure vision approach.
"We believe the announcement reaffirms our view on both BYD's catching up on autopilot with strong new model pipeline, and acceleration of NOA adoption in the industry, especially for mass market models, " the team wrote.
