IM Motors, the electric vehicle (EV) unit of SAIC Motor Corp, has begun offering a limited-time discount of RMB 30,000 ($4,130) on the IM L6 electric sedan, amidst a resumption of a price war.
IM Motors announced today on Weibo that it has begun offering a limited-time discounted price for the IM L6, bringing the starting price down to RMB 189,900 yuan.
This is a reduction of RMB 30,000, or 13.64 percent, from the model's previous starting price of RMB 219,900 yuan.
The discount is valid from February 5-28, and IM Motors emphasized in a poster that the model is available for quick delivery.
The IM L6, which the company officially launched on May 13, 2024, is its fourth model and second sedan.
It is an all-electric mid-to-large-size sedan with a length, width and height of 4,931 mm, 1,960 mm and 1,474 mm respectively and a wheelbase of 2,950 mm.
The model is currently offered in five variants with official starting prices of RMB 219,900, RMB 246,900, RMB 259,900, RMB 275,900 and RMB 305,900 respectively.
The IM Motors website shows lower limited-time discounted prices for these five variants at RMB 209,900, RMB 231,900, RMB 249,900, RMB 265,900, RMB 295,900 respectively.
The model was offered a limited-time discount of RMB 20,000 at launch, bringing the actual starting price down to RMB 199,900 yuan.
