Zeekr (NYSE: ZK), the premium electric vehicle (EV) subsidiary of the Geely Holding Group, has begun delivering vehicles in Norway, after announcing its entry into the European country a month ago.
Zeekr's first Norwegian owner took delivery of his Zeekr 001 shooting brake in Oslo, the EV maker announced today.
The owner, named Jan Arild Nilsen, is an IT worker who previously drove a Skoda Octavia.
Zeekr announced its entry into the Norwegian car market on October 9, further expanding its presence in Europe after the Netherlands and Sweden.
The all-electric Zeekr 001 and Zeekr X compact SUVs (sport utility vehicle) would be open for ordering in Norway later in October, with the first customer deliveries happening at the end of the year, Zeekr said at the time.
The company has established a network of retailers in Norway, which have partners beginning with Premium Cars Stor-Oslo, followed by dealerships in other major cities, it said.
Zeekr unveiled its European strategy in April 2023, expanding first into the Dutch and Swedish markets. It started pre-sales of the Zeekr 001 as well as the Zeekr X in the Netherlands and Sweden at the end of June last year.
The first Zeekr 001s built for European customers rolled off the production line at Zeekr's factory in Ningbo, Zhejiang province, on August 2 last year, and these vehicles were shipped to Europe at the end of August last year.
On December 9 last year, Zeekr delivered the first European version of the Zeekr 001 in the Netherlands, marking the beginning of its deliveries in Europe.
Zeekr delivered a record 25,049 vehicles in October, surpassing September's previous record of 21,333 vehicles. This represents a 91.55 percent increase year-on-year and a 17.42 percent increase from September.
In the January-October period, Zeekr delivered 167,922 vehicles, up 82.32 percent year-on-year.
