Xpeng (NYSE: XPEV) continued to see strong deliveries last month, with the new Mona M03 model performing strongly.
The Chinese electric vehicle (EV) maker delivered 23,917 vehicles in October, its second consecutive record month, according to data it released today.
That's up 19.57 percent from 20,002 in the same period last year and up 12.01 percent from 21,352 in September.
In the January-October period, Xpeng delivered 122,478 vehicles, up 20.73 percent year-on-year.
Since its inception, the company has delivered a cumulative total of 522,789 vehicles, according to data compiled by CnEVPost
In October, the Xpeng Mona M03 surpassed 10,000 deliveries for the second consecutive month, the company said, without mentioning a specific number.
Xpeng officially launched the Mona M03 electric sedan on August 27, offering three variants with starting prices of RMB 119,800 ($16,810), RMB 129,800 and RMB 155,800, respectively.
The Mona M03 becomes the least expensive of Xpeng's models on sale, and is about half the price of the Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA) Model 3.
On August 30, Xpeng said on the first day of the Chengdu auto show that the Mona M03 received more than 30,000 firm orders in the first 48 hours after its launch.
The model delivered 517 units in September and 10,023 in October, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.
Xpeng will hold an AI Tech Day on October 6 in Guangzhou, where it is headquartered, which is an upgrade from its previous 1024 Tech Day.
On October 7, it will officially launch the new electric sedan P7+, and an event will begin at 7:30 pm Beijing time that day.
Xpeng introduced the P7+ to European consumers in Paris, France, on October 14, and announced that the model became available for pre-sales in China at a starting price of RMB 209,800 yuan.
As is customary for Chinese EV makers launching new models, the P7+'s price will likely be lowered further when it goes on sale.
Hours after the model began accepting pre-orders, Xpeng announced on Weibo on October 14 that pre-orders for the P7+ had surpassed 30,000 units just 1 hour and 48 minutes after the pre-sales began.
In a research note sent to investors on October 16, Deutsche Bank analyst Bin Wang's team said monthly sales of the P7+ are expected to average 6,000 units, largely in line with the market's expectations of 5,000-7,000 units per month.
