Zeekr has seen the first production vehicles of the new Zeekr Mix roll off the assembly line, as the MPV model is 2 days away from its launch.
Zeekr (NYSE: ZK), the premium electric vehicle (EV) subsidiary of Geely Holding Group, has seen the first production units of its new model, the Zeekr Mix, roll off the production line, with the MPV (multi-purpose vehicle) two days away from its launch.
Zeekr announced the development on Weibo today and shared several images of the Zeekr Mix production line.
The company will officially roll out the Zeekr Mix on October 23, with a launch event starting at 7 pm Beijing time that day.
The model's showcase vehicle has been available in Zeekr showrooms since October 18.
Zeekr debuted the SEA-M architecture -- a derivative of Geely's Sustainable Experience Architecture (SEA) -- at the 2024 Beijing auto show on April 25, along with the first model based on the architecture, the Zeekr Mix.
Zeekr invested more than RMB 7 billion yuan ($980 million) in the SEA-M architecture to achieve a combination of ultimate space, vehicle safety and quick handling, it said at the Beijing auto show.
Zeekr, based in Ningbo, Zhejiang province, made its first preview for the Zeekr Mix at the end of March, saying at the time that the model was designed to create a new lifestyle of family mobility.
The five-seater entered a regulatory filing catalog in China on March 12, showing its length, width and height at 4,688 mm, 1,995 mm and 1,755 mm, respectively, with a wheelbase of 3,008 mm.
The Zeekr Mix is the world's first mass-produced car with front seats that can be electrically swiveled to support a 270-degree rotation, Zeekr has previously said.
Zeekr showed off earlier this month that passengers could enjoy hot pot, popular in China, in the model while parked, a marketing move that sparked some controversy for a while but also brought the model to the attention of a wider audience.
Zeekr was founded in 2021 and currently sells the Zeekr 001, Zeekr 007, Zeekr 009, Zeekr X, and Zeekr 7X.
The Zeekr 001 shooting brake, Zeekr X compact SUV (sport utility vehicle), and Zeekr 009 MPV are aimed at niche markets. The Zeekr 007 sedan and Zeekr 7X SUV (sport utility vehicle) are aimed at mainstream EV markets.
The Zeekr Mix will be Zeekr's next venture into an entirely new market, with no similar products previously available in the Chinese automotive market.
