BYD has launched the Han EV and M6 MPV in Vietnam, following the launch of the Dolphin, Seal, and Atto 3 in July.
BYD (HKG: 1211, OTCMKTS: BYDDY) has launched two new models in Vietnam, bringing its offerings in the Southeast Asian country to five.
The Chinese new energy vehicle (NEV) maker launched the all-electric Han EV sedan and the M6 electric MPV (multi-purpose vehicle) in Vietnam on October 18, according to an announcement today.
The Han EV starts at VND 1,489,000,000 ($58,930) and the M6 MPV starts at VND 756,000,000 in Vietnam.
The Han, the BYD brand's flagship sedan, was originally launched in July 2020 and has received several major updates over the past four years.
The 2025 Han, currently sold in China, was launched on September 9 and is offered in battery electric vehicle (BEV) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) variants.
The Han EV starts at RMB 179,800 ($25,280) in China, and the hybrid version starts at RMB 165,800.
BYD does not currently offer the M6 in its home market of China. The fuel version of the M6 was launched in July 2010 as its first MPV model, which has now been discontinued.
On July 21, BYD brought it back to the public by launching an all-electric version of the M6 in Indonesia, the country's first all-electric MPV. On September 9, BYD also launched the M6 MPV in Thailand.
In Vietnam, BYD launched its first three models on July 18, including the compact hatchback Dolphin, the mid-sized sedan Seal, and the compact crossover Atto 3 -- known in China as the Yuan Plus.
Currently, BYD does not have a factory in Vietnam and all of its models are imported into the country.
BYD sold a record 419,426 NEVs in September, its fourth consecutive record month, up 45.91 percent year-on-year and up 12.42 percent from August.
In September, the company sold 33,012 vehicles in overseas markets, up 17.74 percent year-on-year and up 4.96 percent from August.
