Li Auto (NASDAQ: LI) saw its 1 millionth vehicle roll off the assembly line today, marking a significant moment in the history of the Chinese startup.

The company announced the milestone on its social media accounts today, saying it was 58 months after its first vehicle rolled off the line in November 2019.

The 1 millionth vehicle was built at Li Auto's plant in Changzhou, Jiangsu province in eastern China, which is now its main production site. The company has another, newer plant in Beijing, where it is headquartered.

Li Auto held a ceremony at its Changzhou plant, attended by officials from Jiangsu province as well as executives from the company.

Founded in July 2015, Li Auto is one of China's major extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) players.

Its first model, the Li One EREV, was released in October 2018 and began deliveries in December 2019.

The Li One has now been discontinued and Li Auto currently sells mainly L-series EREVs, including the Li L6, Li L7, Li L8, and Li L9. On March 1, the company's first battery electric vehicle (BEV) model, the Li Mega MPV (multi-purpose vehicle), was launched.

Deliveries of both Li One and Li L9 have exceeded 210,000 units, Li L8 has exceeded 180,000 units and Li L7 over 220,000 units, the company said today.

Its new model, the Li L6, has accumulated more than 110,000 deliveries since its launch in April, setting a record for the fastest delivery by a new car-making force, it said.

Li Auto delivered 53,709 vehicles in September, bringing cumulative deliveries since inception to 975,176 vehicles, according to figures it announced earlier this month.

Delivery of its millionth vehicle could still take days, given factors including logistics.

The company achieved a record 152,831 deliveries in the third quarter, up 45.4 percent year-on-year and within the guidance range of 145,000 to 155,000 vehicles.

In the January-September period, Li Auto delivered 341,812 vehicles, up 39.96 percent year-on-year.
