Zeekr (NYSE: ZK) has entered the Brazilian automotive market, further expanding its international footprint.
The premium electric vehicle (EV) subsidiary of the Geely Holding Group launched the Zeekr 001 shooting brake in Sao Paulo on October 10 as its first model there.
The Zeekr 001 starts at 428,000 reais ($76,390) in Brazil, and deliveries will begin in November, the company said in a brief press release.
Zeekr's first store in Brazil is expected to officially open in December, with stores in other major cities to follow, according to the EV maker.
So far this year, Zeekr has expanded its presence in Latin America to cover markets including Mexico, Costa Rica, and Colombia.
By the end of September, Zeekr had cumulatively entered more than 35 mainstream international markets, it said.
The day before entering Brazil, Zeekr announced its entry into the Norwegian automotive market, further expanding its presence in Europe after the Netherlands and Sweden.
The all electric Zeekr 001 shooting brake and Zeekr X compact SUV (sport utility vehicle) will be open for ordering in Norway later this month, with the first customer deliveries occurring at the end of this year, Zeekr said.
The Zeekr 001 is Zeekr's first model launched after its founding in 2021 and has a WLTP range of up to 620 kilometers.
Zeekr delivered a record 21,333 vehicles in September, surpassing the previous record of 20,106 vehicles in June.
In the January-September period, Zeekr delivered 142,873 vehicles, an 80.79 percent increase year-on-year. It aims to deliver 230,000 vehicles in the full year 2024, double the 2023 figure.
