In September, retail sales of passenger NEVs in China totaled 1.12 million units, up 51 percent from the same month last year and up 9 percent from August, according to preliminary data released today by the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA).
So far this year, cumulative retail sales of China's passenger NEVs totaled 7.13 million units, up 37 percent from the same period last year, according to the CPCA.
Wholesale sales of China's passenger NEVs in September were 1.227 million units, up 48 percent from a year earlier and up 17 percent from August.
So far this year, cumulative wholesale sales of passenger NEVs in China totaled 7.91 million units, up 34 percent year-on-year.
In September, retail sales of all passenger vehicles in China amounted to 2.06 million units, an increase of 2 percent compared with the same period last year and an increase of 8 percent compared with August.
So far this year, cumulative retail sales of all passenger vehicles in China totaled 15.53 million units, up 2 percent year-on-year.
This means that China's NEV penetration at retail stood at 54.29 percent in September and 45.9 percent year-to-date.
In the first week of September -- September 1-8 -- average daily retail sales of passenger cars in China were 48,475, up 10 percent year-on-year and up 5 percent from the same period last month.
In the second week of September -- September 9-15, average daily retail sales of passenger cars in China were 62,881, up 26 percent year-on-year and up 18 percent from the same period last month.
In the third week of September -- September 16-22, average daily retail sales of passenger cars in China were 59,321, down 3 percent year-on-year but up 6 percent from the same period last month.
In the fourth week of September -- September 23-30, average daily retail sales of passenger cars in China were 102,495, down 8 percent year-on-year but up 20 percent from the same period last month.
Wholesale sales of all passenger cars in China in September were 2,469,000 units, up 1 percent year-on-year and up 15 percent from the same period last month.
From September 1-8, average daily wholesale sales of passenger cars in China were 46,248, up 1 percent year-on-year and up 41 percent from a month earlier.
During September 9-15, average daily wholesale sales of passenger cars in China were 71,136, up 17 percent year-on-year and up 49 percent from the same period last month.
During September 16-22, average daily wholesale sales of passenger cars in China were 72,190, down 2 percent year-on-year but up 12 percent from the same period last month.
From September 23-30, average daily wholesale sales of passenger cars in China were 136,994, down 4 percent year-on-year but up 12 percent from the same period last month.
Cumulative year-to-date wholesale sales of passenger cars in China totaled 18.41 million units, up 3 percent year-on-year.
