Leapmotor, the Chinese new energy vehicle (NEV) maker backed by Stellantis NV (NYSE: STLA), has begun previewing a new model, the B10, as it expands its product lineup for international markets.

Leapmotor shared three images of the B10 SUV (sport utility vehicle) on Weibo today, saying it's the first global model on its new B platform, which will be officially unveiled at the Paris auto show, which kicks off on October 14.

The B-platform is a key part of Leapmotor's globalization strategy, using the latest Leap 3.5 technology architecture and focusing on delivering top-of-the-line intelligent NEV products to young people around the world, the company said.

Based on this new platform, Leapmotor will launch a number of models in 2025 to meet the demand for personalized, intelligent vehicles from different consumer segments, it said.

The Leapmotor B10 is a compact SUV, about the size of a BMW X1, and will compete with models including the Aito M5 and (NYSE: NIO) Onvo L60, according to a press release.

Founded in 2015, Leapmotor is one of the first new car-making forces in China and is expanding overseas in partnership with Stellantis, Europe's second-largest carmaker by sales.

Leapmotor's current models currently on sale in China include the T03, C01, C10, C11, and C16, with all models except the T03 offered in both battery electric vehicle (BEV) and extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) variants.

The company said yesterday that the C10 and T03 were officially launched in 13 European countries on September 24, with a media test drive in Milan, Italy.

Leapmotor delivered 30,305 vehicles in August, up 113.5 percent from the same month last year and 37.1 percent from the previous month.

In the January-August period, Leapmotor delivered 139,094 vehicles, up 90.47 percent from the same period last year.

The company reaffirmed its unchanged sales target of 250,000 vehicles for the full year 2024 when it announced its second-quarter earnings on August 16.

At the end of August, Leapmotor had delivered 444,918 vehicles since its inception, data monitored by CnEVPost showed.
