Zeekr launched the right-hand drive Zeekr X SUV in Hong Kong on July 17 and gave the all-new Zeekr 009 an appearance, with the MPV set to be launched there on July 19.
Zeekr (NYSE: ZK), the premium electric vehicle (EV) subsidiary of Geely Holding Group, has rolled out the Zeekr X in Hong Kong, following the launch of the compact SUV (sport utility vehicle) in Thailand just last week.
Zeekr launched the right-hand drive version of the Zeekr X in Hong Kong on July 17 with local distribution partner Kam Lung Motor Group, and gave the all-new Zeekr 009 an appearance, the MPV (multi-purpose vehicle) that will go on sale in Hong Kong on July 19.
The Zeekr X starts at HK$249,900 ($32,000) in Hong Kong, just slightly above its RMB 200,000 ($27,540) starting price in the Chinese mainland.
The compact SUV is offered in Hong Kong in two variants -- a single-motor rear-wheel drive version, and a dual-motor four-wheel drive version, with starting prices of HK$249,900 and HK$269,900, respectively.
The single-motor rear-wheel-drive version has a peak motor power of 200 kW, producing 272 hp and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.6 seconds.
The dual-motor four-wheel drive version has a combined peak motor power of 315 kW, producing 428 hp and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds.
Both variants are powered by a battery pack with a capacity of 66 kWh and have a WLTP range of 440 kilometers and 420 kilometers respectively.
The model is also available in the Chinese mainland in two variants, both with a starting price of RMB 200,000 yuan.
Starting July 20, the new Zeekr 009 and Zeekr X will be on display at Zeekr showrooms in Hong Kong, including the Zeekr Space in Wanchai and the Zeekr Gallery in Taikoo Shing.
Based on Geely's Sustainable Electric Architecture (SEA), the Zeekr X measures 4,450 mm in length, 1,836 mm in width and 1,572 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,750 mm.
The model was initially launched in the Chinese mainland on April 12, 2023, when it was offered in three variants, one starting at RMB 189,800 and the other two at RMB 209,800 each.
On January 10, Zeekr launched the 2024 Zeekr X, available in just two variants, both with a starting price of RMB 200,000.
On July 1, Zeekr launched the 2025 Zeekr X in the Chinese mainland, continuing to offer two variants with the same starting price.
Zeekr is making the Zeekr X an international model. It started pre-sales for the right-hand drive version of the Zeekr X in Thailand on March 25 and officially launched the SUV there on July 11.
On June 6, Zeekr announced that the first right-hand drive Zeekr X SUVs rolled off the production line and deliveries were expected to begin in the third quarter.
Zeekr will enter the right-hand drive market in full swing as globalization continues to accelerate, it said on June 6.
Zeekr is already in more than 25 mainstream international markets and plans to further expand its footprint in 2024, aiming to cover 50 global markets, the company's vice president, Chen Yu, said at yesterday's event in Hong Kong.
Left-hand-drive vehicles are used in mainland China, while some countries and regions in Southeast Asia, the Commonwealth and some island nations use right-hand-drive models.
