BYD (HKG: 1211, OTCMKTS: BYDDY) has started selling passenger cars in the Greek market in cooperation with dealer partner Sfakianakis Group, further expanding its international presence.

The first two BYD models distributed by Sfakianakis in Greece are the Atto 3 and Seal, according to a press release today. The Atto 3 is called the Yuan Plus in China.

BYD's Dolphin, the Seal U, will be introduced to Greece next, with the Seal U to be offered in battery electric vehicle (BEV) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) variants.

The Seal U, called Song Plus in China, is offered as the pure electric Song Plus EV and the hybrid Song Plus DM-i.

The first two BYD stores will be opened in Athens, located at 57 Kifissias Avenue, Marousi and 173 Athens Avenue & Kifisos Avenue, the new energy vehicle (NEV) maker said.

Sfakianakis is implementing a plan to expand the group's network of retail partners and authorized repairers across Greece to ensure the provision of high quality localized sales and after-sales services, BYD said.

"This is BYD Europe's first national launch in 2024 making our partnership with Sfakianakis Group in Greece especially significant," said Michael Shu, managing director of BYD Europe.

Since entering the European passenger car market in October 2022, BYD has opened more than 250 stores in 20 European countries in cooperation with local partners.

BYD is expanding its presence in overseas markets and is building plants in several countries, with its first passenger car plant in Europe to be located in Hungary.

On January 30, BYD signed a preliminary land purchase agreement with the government of the city of Szeged for its passenger car plant in Hungary.
