The Fang Cheng Bao brand delivered 5,203 vehicles in January, while the Yangwang brand delivered 1,652 units.

(OTCMKTS: BYDDF) today reported new energy vehicle (NEV) sales for January, followed by breakdown figures showing the performance of different brands and models.

BYD's NEVs include passenger NEVs and commercial NEVs, with the former encompassing different brands including BYD, Denza, Yangwang, and Fang Cheng Bao.

The company sold 201,493 NEVs in January, including 201,019 passenger vehicles and 474 commercial vehicles.

BYD-branded passenger cars -- including Dynasty and Ocean models -- sold 185,088 units in January, up 28.78 percent year-on-year.

The premium Denza brand sold 9,068 units in January, up 98.75 percent year-on-year and 23.98 percent lower than in December.

Denza's sales in December included 8,501 units of the D9 MPV, 320 units of the N7 SUV, and 247 units of the N8 SUV.

BYD's personalized sub-brand Fang Cheng Bao delivered 5,203 vehicles in January. Fang Cheng Bao's first model, the Bao 5, was officially launched on November 9 and deliveries began on November 23, with 5,086 vehicles delivered in December.

The Yangwang brand delivered 1,652 vehicles in January, and BYD's ultra-luxury sub-brand launched its first model, the U8, on September 20, with deliveries beginning on November 24.

The U8, which has a starting price of RMB 1.098 million ($150,370), delivered 1,593 units in December.

Among the BYD brand's models, the Song family continued to rank as the top-selling BYD model with 59,514 units sold in January, up 19.35 percent year-on-year but 29.18 percent lower than in December.

Song family models on sale include the Song Pro DM-i and Song Max DM-i of the Dynasty series, and the Song Plus EV and Song Plus DM-i of the Ocean series.

BYD's Dynasty series of Song models sold 30,806 units in January, down 7.53 percent from 33,314 units in December.

Its Ocean range of Song models sold 28,708 units in January, down 43.40 percent from 50,725 in December.

The Seagull was the second highest-selling BYD model after selling 36,447 units in January, 27.86 percent lower than in December.

The BYD Seagull was launched on April 26, 2023 with a starting price of RMB 73,800, making it the cheapest BYD model.

BYD Qin family models sold 21,767 units in January, up 53.45 percent year-on-year but down 53.08 percent from 46,394 units in December.

The Qin family was the third best-selling BYD model in January.

The Dolphin was the fourth best-selling BYD model in January with 18,905 units sold, up 7.24 percent year-on-year but down 48.23 percent from December.

The BYD Yuan family sold 18,071 units in January, down 22.21 percent year-on-year and down 56.64 percent from December.

BYD's flagship sedan, the Han family, sold 11,101 units in January, down 9.12 percent year-on-year and down 46.89 percent from December.

The BYD Seal sold 8,347 units in January, up 26.13 percent year-on-year but down 58.46 percent from December.

The BYD Seal initially went on sale in China on July 29, 2022, with deliveries beginning in August 2022. BYD launched the updated Seal on May 10 and the hybrid Seal DM-i on September 6.

BYD's flagship SUV Tang sold 5,211 units in January, down 41.38 percent year-on-year and down 53.95 percent from December.

BYD Chaser 05 sold 3,450 units in January, down 30.53 percent year-on-year and down 43.90 percent from December.

BYD Frigate 07 sold 1,575 units in January, down 68.77 percent year-on-year and down 22.03 percent from December. The model was officially launched on December 19, 2022.

BYD e2 sold 700 units in January, down 63.84 percent from December. The compact NEV was launched on April 6, 2023.
