Except for the flagship SUV ES8, all other models saw deliveries increase in December compared to November.

Nio (NYSE: NIO) released figures earlier this month showing that it delivered 18,012 vehicles in December, up 12.86 percent from 15,959 in November, without providing a breakdown of specific models. The figures are now available, showcasing the performance of different models.

Nio currently sells the ES8, ES7, ES6, EC7, EC6, ET7, ET5, ET5 Touring, of which the first five are SUVs and the last three are sedans.

Overall, except for the flagship SUV ES8, all other Nio models saw an increase in deliveries in December compared to November, with ES6 and ET5 Touring remaining the best-selling Nio models.

The Nio ES6 delivered 6,943 units in December, up 301.10 percent from 1,731 a year ago and up 22.54 percent from 5,666 in November, data from China Passenger Car Association (CPCA) shared by local automotive media Yiche showed.

The SUV contributed 38.55 percent to Nio deliveries in December, higher than 35.50 percent in November and 36.55 percent in October, CnEVPost's calculations showed.

For the full year 2023, the ES6 delivered 56,539 units, up 34.58 percent year-on-year.

The ES6 is Nio's second production vehicle, originally launched at the Nio Day 2018 event held on December 15, 2018, and it has been Nio's least expensive SUV.

On May 24, 2023, Nio launched the new ES6 based on the NT 2.0 platform and started deliveries on the same night of its launch. The model currently starts at RMB 338,000 ($47,110) in China.

The ET5 Touring delivered 3,331 units in December, up 2.56 percent from 3,248 units in November. The model contributed 18.49 percent of Nio's deliveries in December, lower than the 20.35 percent in November.

The ET5 Touring went on sale in China on June 15, 2023, with deliveries beginning on June 16. By the end of 2023, a total of 21,361 units of the model had been delivered since its launch, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.

Pricing for the ET5 Touring is the same as the regular ET5, starting at RMB 298,000 for the version with a 75-kWh battery pack and RMB 356,000 for the 100-kWh version.

The regular ET5 delivered 2,167 units in December, a decrease of 71.46 percent from 7,594 units in the same month last year, and an increase of 13.28 percent from 1,913 units in November, contributing 12.03 percent of Nio's deliveries in December.

Nio launched the ET5, the company's second sedan after the ET7, at Nio Day 2021 in December 2021, with first deliveries commencing on September 30, 2022. In 2023, 40,848 units of the regular ET5 were delivered.

The coupe SUV EC6 delivered 2,887 units in December, up 589.02 percent year-on-year and up 5.40 percent from 2,739 units in November.

The EC6 contributed 16.03 percent of Nio's deliveries in December, lower than November's 17.16 percent.

For the full year 2023, the EC6 delivered 11,324 units, down 33.68 percent from 17,076 last year.

The EC6 was initially launched on December 28, 2019, with first deliveries in September 2020. On September 15, 2023, Nio launched the new EC6 based on the NT 2.0 platform, with deliveries beginning on the night of the launch.

Nio ES8 delivered 1,584 units in December, up 194.42 percent from 538 in the same month last year while down 4.46 percent from 1,658 in November.

The ES8 contributed 8.79 percent of Nio's deliveries in December, down from 10.39 percent in November. The model delivered 14,138 units in 2023, a decrease of 1.68 percent year-on-year.

The ES8 is Nio's first production model, originally launched at Nio Day 2017 on December 16, 2017. At Nio Day 2019 on December 28, 2019, Nio launched an upgraded version of the ES8, still based on the NT 1.0 platform.

On December 24, 2022, Nio launched the new ES8 based on the NT 2.0 platform at the Nio Day 2022 event, with deliveries starting on June 28, 2023.

The ES8 is Nio's highest-priced model to date, with a starting price of RMB 498,000 in China.

Nio's other coupe SUV, the EC7, delivered 368 units in December, up 5.14 percent from 350 units in November.

The EC7, along with the new ES8, was launched on Nio Day 2022 on December 24, 2022, with first deliveries on April 28, 2023. In 2023, 3,658 units of this model were delivered.

The Nio ET7 delivered 466 units in December, contributing 2.59 percent of the Nio's deliveries in December. That's 66.21 percent lower than the 1,379 delivered in the same month last year and 84.19 percent higher than the 466 delivered in November.

For the full year 2023, a total of 5,643 ET7s were delivered.

The ET7 was initially launched at the Nio Day 2020 event on January 9, 2021, with deliveries beginning on March 28, 2022. Nio launched the 2023 ET7 on the first day of the Shanghai auto show on April 18, 2023, with deliveries beginning in mid-May.

The ES7 delivered 266 units in December, a decrease of 93.60 percent from 4,154 units in the same month last year and an increase of 101.52 percent from 207 units in November.

The ES7 was released on June 15, 2022, and deliveries began on August 28, 2022. The model delivered 6,524 units in 2023.
