Aito said it is ramping up delivery capacity, which is expected to top 30,000 vehicles in a single month beginning in 2024, as it secures more than 120,000 firm orders for the new M7.

Aito, the new energy vehicle (NEV) brand backed by Chinese tech giant , delivered a record number of vehicles in December, as the new Aito M7 brought in a large number of orders.

Aito delivered 24,468 vehicles in December, up 141.23 percent from 10,143 in the same month in 2022 and up 29.69 percent from 18,827 in November, according to its announcement today.

The new Aito M7 contributed 20,611 units, or 84 percent, Aito said. That means the M5 delivered 3,857 units in December, considering Aito's current models in delivery include only the M5 and M7.

By the end of December, the new M7 had received more than 120,000 firm orders, Aito said, adding that a total of 48,552 units of the model had been delivered.

Aito delivered 55,995 vehicles in the fourth quarter, which was up 84 percent from 30,421 in the same period last year, data monitored by CnEVPost showed.

For the full year 2023, Aito delivered 94,380 vehicles.

Aito is a premium NEV brand launched by local carmaker Seres Group with Huawei on December 2, 2021, and its first model, the Aito M5, was unveiled on December 23, 2021, offering both EREV and BEV versions.

On July 4, 2022, Aito launched its second model, the M7. On September 12 this year, the brand launched a new version of the M7, allowing for a significant price reduction. The M7 is only available in an EREV version.

On December 26, Aito launched its flagship SUV, the Aito M9, available in both extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) and battery electric vehicle (BEV) versions.

Volume deliveries of the Aito M9 will begin on February 26, and before that, Aito is offering 2,000 first mover slots who can get deliveries starting January 26.

The M9 received more than 30,000 firm orders after seven days on the market, Aito said today.

Aito is continuing to increase its delivery capacity, which is expected to exceed 30,000 units in a single month beginning in 2024, it said.
