BYD (OTCMKTS: BYDDY) is bringing its electric vehicles (EVs) to more countries as the Chinese new energy vehicle (NEV) maker tries to expand its international presence.

The company launched EVs in Chile, Brunei, and Morocco in the past few days in its latest move in international markets.

The BYD Dolphin went on sale in China on August 29, 2021 and is currently priced at a starting price of RMB 116,800 ($16,290) in its home market.

The model is the first to be built on BYD's e-Platform 3.0 platform and is the first product in its Ocean series.

BYD also debuted the Han EV, Tang EV, Song EV, and Song Plus DM-i at the event, according to its July 15 press release.

In Chile, BYD brought its first electric bus to Santiago in 2017 and entered into a strategic partnership with local car dealer Astara Group in 2022.

The company also announced on July 15 that it held a brand and new model launch event in Morocco on July 13 to unveil three new all-electric models -- the Han EV, Tang EV and Atto 3.

Known as the Yuan Plus in China, the Atto 3 is BYD's first global model and is already available in dozens of countries.

Last November, BYD announced a partnership with Auto Nejma, part of Moroccan dealer group Hakam Family Group.

In 2017 BYD and the Moroccan government signed a memorandum of understanding on electric public transportation systems, covering rail transportation, electric passenger cars, electric buses and trucks, and battery assembly.

BYD announced on July 14 that it held a brand launch in Brunei and launched the Atto 3 to local customers.

BYD sold 253,046 NEVs in June, up 88.79 percent from 134,036 units in the same month last year, and up 5.34 percent from 240,220 units in May, according to figures it announced earlier this month.
