In the January-June period, 2.14 million vehicles were exported from China, up 75.7 percent year-on-year, according to data released today by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM).

Tesla exported 182,000 vehicles from China in the first half of the year, accounting for 8.5 percent of total exports, placing it in third place among major contributors, according to the CAAM.

SAIC Motor exported 483,000 units in January-June, contributing the most with 22.6 percent of total exports.

Chery's exports in the first half of the year were 394,000 units, up 170 percent year-on-year, and ranked second with an 18.4 percent share

China's new energy vehicle (NEV) giant exported 81,000 units in the January-June period, up 1,060 percent year-on-year, and ranked ninth with a 3.7 percent share.

Great Wall Motor's exports in the January-June period were 124,000 units, up 97.3 percent year-on-year, and ranked fifth with a 5.8 percent share.

In June, exports of NEVs from China were 78,000 units, up 170 percent year-on-year but down 28.4 percent from May.

In the January-June period, exports of NEVs from China were 534,000 units, up 160 percent year-on-year.

In June, the export volume of passenger cars was 312,000 units, up 57.7 percent year-on-year and down 4.1 percent from May.
