officially launched the C11 EREV and facelifts for its BEVs, allowing for significantly lower starting prices.

Leapmotor's sales in February improved from January's dismal performance but were still lower than a year ago. The company officially launched its extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) model in hopes of reversing its fortunes.

The new energy vehicle (NEV) maker delivered 3,198 units in February, up 180.77 percent from 1,139 units in January but down 6.9 percent from 3,435 units in the same month last year, according to data released by the company on March 1.

Founded in 2015, Leapmotor's models on sale include the mini vehicle T03, the coupe model S01, the flagship SUV model C11, and the flagship sedan C01.

For the full year 2022, Leapmotor's deliveries were 111,168 units, up 157.80 percent from 43,121 units in 2021.

However, starting in the fourth quarter of last year, Leapmotor deliveries declined significantly, falling to 1,139 units by January of this year, the lowest since March 2021.

To reverse the sales decline, Leapmotor announced plans last year to release EREV models to target the larger market for plug-in hybrids. All of Leapmotor's previous models were battery electric vehicles (BEVs).

On March 1, Leapmotor officially launched the C11 EREV and 2023 facelifts for the previously available BEVs, allowing for lower starting prices.

The C11 EREV is available in two battery pack options of 30.1 kWh and 43.74 kWh, with a CLTC range of 180 km and 285 km on battery power, respectively.

The C11 EREV is available in three versions with starting prices of RMB 149,800 ($21,720), RMB 165,800 and RMB 185,800 respectively.

The C11 BEV 2023 model is available in four versions with starting prices of RMB 155,800, RMB 169,800, RMB 199,800 and RMB 219,800 respectively. Their CLTC ranges are 502 km, 650 km and 580 km respectively.

The previously available C11 BEV offers three versions with starting prices of RMB 185,800, RMB 215,800, and RMB 235,800 respectively.

The C01 sedan has also received an update, offering five versions as before, but at significantly reduced prices.

The starting prices for the five versions of the C01 2023 are RMB 149,800, RMB 169,800, RMB 189,800, RMB 216,800 and RMB 228,800 respectively. The five versions previously on sale started at RMB 193,800, RMB 209,800, RMB 231,800, RMB 251,800 and RMB 286,800 respectively.

The T03, which contributed the majority of Leapmotor's sales, has been reduced by one version, while the prices became significantly lowered.

The 2023 T03 is now offered in four versions with starting prices of RMB 59,900, RMB 69,900, RMB 80,900 and RMB 89,900 respectively. Previously it was offered in five versions with starting prices of RMB 82,500, RMB 89,500, RMB 91,500, RMB 95,500 and RMB 99,500 respectively.
