BYD made its app officially live in Thailand on December 12, primarily for enabling control of vehicles, according to a company press release on Wednesday.

Owners can use the BYD App to know the status of their vehicles in real-time and control them remotely, completing operations including remotely unlocking the vehicle and remotely locking it.

BYD's local partner Rêver Automotive also announced the launch of the Rêver App, which will provide lifestyle services to consumers.

Consumers interested in the BYD Atto 3 can use the Rêver App to make appointments to experience and purchase the vehicle, or to select a financial service option.

The two apps were launched at the end of the Thailand auto show, which was held for 13 days, and BYD won 2,714 orders at the event, according to the company.

As of December 12, BYD Atto 3 has accumulated 10,305 orders in Thailand, BYD said.

The BYD Atto 3, known as the Yuan Plus in China, was officially launched in China on February 19.

The Atto 3 is BYD's first global passenger car and is already available in countries including Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Cambodia and Costa Rica, as well as in Europe.

On August 8, BYD and RÊVER held a joint press conference in Bangkok to announce their official entry into the passenger car market in this Southeast Asian country.

On October 10, BYD and Rêver jointly announced the launch of the Atto 3 in Thailand.

In September, the Chinese new energy vehicle (NEV) maker signed a land purchase agreement with Thai industrial property developer WHA Industrial Development PLC, a subsidiary of the WHA Group.

BYD's plant here is expected to start operations in 2024, with an annual capacity of 150,000 electric passenger vehicles, which will be exported to ASEAN countries as well as Europe.
