Nio's '866' models see wait times drop to about 2 weeks

The latest expected delivery times for Nio ES8, ES6 and EC6 are all around 2 weeks after locking in orders, down from 2-3 weeks previously.

Nio's older models see a further reduction in wait times in China, after seeing similar changes a week ago.

Nio currently sells six models in China, including three models based on the NT 1.0 platform -- the ES8, ES6 and EC6 -- and three models based on the NT 2.0 platform -- the ES7, ET7 and ET5.

The last change in the expected delivery dates was on November 3, when the wait times for the ES8, ES6 and EC6 all changed from 2-4 weeks to 2-3 weeks.

The wait times for models based on the NT 2.0 platform remain unchanged, at 7-9 weeks for the ES7 and 4-6 weeks for the ET7. The Nio App still does not show the expected delivery date for the ET5.

Nio delivered 10,059 vehicles in October, including 2,814 ES7s, 3,050 ET7s and 1,030 ET5s. The company did not release a breakdown of deliveries for models based on the NT 1.0 platform, though calculations show they delivered a total of 3,165 vehicles in October.

Of all Nio's models, only the ET5 is produced at the company's second plant in NeoPark in Hefei, Anhui province, while all other models are produced at the JAC-Nio F1 plant.

Nio is expected to transition the ES8, ES6 and EC6 to the NT 2.0 platform in 2023, and some spy shots of the test cars have already started circulating on Chinese social media recently.
