Lynk & Co plans to launch four hybrid models this year and three more within two years.

The Lynk & Co brand, jointly owned by Geely Auto and Volvo Car, unveiled a new hybrid technology and a futuristic concept car Monday, setting the stage for its next electrification efforts.

Lynk & Co unveiled what it calls the Lynk E-Motive hybrid technology, which is based on Geely's Leishen hybrid platform and incorporates Lynk & Co's mobility philosophy.

Geely's Leishen hybrid system is equipped with a 3-speed DHT transmission and has achieved 43.3 percent maximum engine thermal efficiency and 40 percent fuel savings, as well as FOTA upgrade capability for the hybrid system.

Lynk & Co said the Lynk E-Motive is their response to customer expectations and a way for the brand to take the use of Leishen hybrid technology to the next level.

Lynk E-Motive supports the production of hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) as well as plug-in hybrids (PHEVs), which include both two-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive power forms.

PHEVs based on Lynk E-Motive technology support battery ranges of 60 km, 100 km, 150 km and 180 km, with Lynk & Co planning to launch a 180 km range version first.

The Lynk E-Motive supports a catapult start function that allows the vehicle's 0-100 km/h acceleration performance to improve by 0.5 seconds and has stronger acceleration than its competitors in the same class at speeds of 80-120 km/h, according to Lynk & Co.

The Lynk & Co hybrid with the strongest performance will be able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 5 seconds, according to the company.

Lynk & Co said vehicles with Lynk E-Motive hybrid systems will have excellent fuel economy, with fuel consumption as low as 4.5 liters per 100 kilometers for HEVs and 5.1 liters per 100 kilometers of electricity loss for plug-in hybrids.

Lynk E-Motive is based on a next-generation electrical and electronic architecture that supports OTA upgrades in the chassis domain, intelligent driving domain, cockpit domain and body domain, according to the company.

Lynk & Co also unveiled at Monday's launch the The Next Day concept, a new energy-powered four-door GT model with a new design language.

The Next Day concept features a gradient paint job that claims to have been handcrafted by the world's leading painters over hundreds of hours.

The concept features a butterfly door design, a four-seat interior and a floating dashboard.

The diamond-style-shaped glass dome extends almost to the end of the rear of the car, and the driver can enjoy the panoramic 3D HOLO-HUD display from the diamond-cut glass inside the car.

In the future, the design elements of The Next Day concept and Lynk E-Motive hybrid technology will be used in Lynk & Co's products.

In addition to the latest hybrid technology and concept cars, Lynk & Co also announced its product plans for the coming years, saying that four hybrids will be launched this year and an additional three within two years.

By 2025, the entire Lynk & Co product line will be electrified with Lynk E-Motive technology.
