Local Chinese premium electric vehicle (EV) brand HiPhi sold 355 HiPhi X units in February, the only model it currently sells, down 35 percent from 550 units in January, according to data released today by the company.

HiPhi, a brand owned by Human Horizons, launched HiPhi X in October 2020, with deliveries of the model starting in May 2021.

To date HiPhi has delivered a total of 5,142 HiPhi X vehicles to customers, with an average sales price of nearly RMB 700,000, the company said.

The HiPhi X starts at RMB 570,000 ($90,000) for the six-seat version and up to RMB 800,000 for the four-seat version.

A ranking of luxury EV sales priced at more than RMB 500,000 in February, released today by several local automotive media outlets, shows the HiPhi X at the top. The list is based on insurance registration data.

The Mercedes-Benz EQC is in second place with 214 units, the Mercedes-Benz EQS is in third place with 156 units, and the Hongqi E-HS9 is in fourth place with 151 units.

From fifth to seventh place are Porsche Taycan with 83 units, Audi e-tron with 83 units and BMW iX with 48 units.

Human Horizons, the owner of the HiPhi brand, announced that it has rolled off the production line for an integrated, large die-cast rear body structure based on a giant 7,200-ton die-casting machine.
