's lifetime warranty on the vehicle's battery, drive motor and motor controller will reportedly be reduced to eight years or 120,000 kilometers.

After canceling its lifetime warranty on its vehicles in June, Li Auto is said to be scaling back its warranty even further next year.

Starting February 1, 2022, Li Auto will cancel its lifetime warranty on the battery, drive motor and motor controller, and extended-range system for first-time owners, according to a report Tuesday by automotive media outlet xchuxing.com.

Li Auto will then provide an eight-year or 120,000-kilometer warranty on the vehicle's battery, drive motor and motor controller, and a five-year or 100,000-kilometer warranty on the vehicle and key components.

Li Auto offers buyers a lifetime warranty on the whole vehicle during the initial delivery of its vehicle. In June of this year, the company removed that benefit in favor of a lifetime warranty on only the battery, drive motor and motor controller, and extended-range system.

Li Auto currently has only one model on sale, the Li ONE with extended-range technology, which is one of the top-selling models among the new carmakers because it can refuel and offers a lot of interior space.

Deliveries of the Li ONE began in December 2019, with 1,011 units sold in the first delivery month.

The company released data earlier this month showing it delivered a record 13,485 Li ONEs in November, up 190 percent year-on-year and up 76 percent from 7,649 units in October.

December's delivery figures are expected to be released in a few days.
