BYD will launch the Yuan Plus, the company's first SUV based on e-platform 3.0 and the platform's second model after the Dolphin, in Singapore in the second quarter of 2022.

BYD will work with E-Auto, its official dealer partner in Singapore, to bring the model to local consumers, according to a press release sent to CnEVPost.

"This SUV marks a new era of BYD vehicles in Singapore, promising improved power, a new design language, and an excellent battery range," BYD said.

E-Auto is a division of Vantage Automotive and a member of the Sime Darby Motors group. As an important local partner of BYD, establishing cooperation with E-Auto is an important milestone for BYD to develop passenger vehicles in Singapore, the new energy vehicle maker said.

"We are anticipating strong interest in this newly launched BYD Yuan Plus in Singapore as it features BYD's latest e-platform 3.0 and highly regarded Blade Battery technology," James Ng, Managing Director of BYD Singapore, said.

At the 2021 Guangzhou Auto Show on November 19, BYD unveiled the Yuan PLUS, which will be available for pre-order in China on January 1, 2022, and will go on sale in the first quarter of next year.

Previous local media reports said that the BYD Yuan PLUS is expected to have a pre-sale price of RMB 120,000 ($18,900) - 150,000 yuan in China.

An image circulating on social media earlier today shows BYD offering dealers a pre-sale price of RMB 130,000 - 155,000.

After the official price is available, BYD will refund the excess amount charged or ask dealers to make up the difference.

BYD Yuan PLUS has a length, width and height of 4,455/1,875/1,615 mm respectively and a wheelbase of 2,720 mm.

As the first SUV of e-platform 3.0, Yuan PLUS inherits some of the platform's qualities, including short front overhang, short rear overhang and long wheelbase to ensure a spacious ride inside.

Yuan PLUS is equipped with an AC permanent magnet synchronous motor with a maximum power of 150kW and a peak torque of 310Nm, with a 0-100km/h acceleration time of 7.3 seconds.

The model is equipped with BYD's lithium iron phosphate technology-based blade batteries with capacities of 50 kWh and 60 kWh, and NEDC ranges of 400km and 500km, respectively.
