With less than 24 hours to go before Nio Day 2021, Nio is lighting up the night sky of Suzhou to build momentum for its most important annual event.

Three major landmarks in Suzhou - Suzhou Olympic Sports Center, Oriental Gate, and Suzhou Center - have been lit up by Nio to showcase the theme of its upcoming event - Hello World.

Nio Day 2021 will be held on December 18 from 7:00 to 8:30 pm Beijing time at the Suzhou Olympic Sports Center.

Suzhou recently upgraded its outbreak control level due to the increased number of Covid-19 cases in the Yangtze River Delta, forcing Nio to scale back the on-site audience for its annual event.

"At the request of the epidemic prevention authorities, we regret to inform you that Nio Day 2021 needs to be scaled back by more than half the number of people on-site at the event to reduce the risk of the spread of the outbreak," Nio said in a statement posted on its app Tuesday.

But the event is still being held offline as planned, and Nio appears to be marketing it more than it has previously.

Earlier today, Nio announced a general schedule for the event, including an introduction of the newest member of the Nio product family, Alan Walker's first-ever virtual show and a new single from Nio Band.

Nio is currently showing a countdown to the start of Nio Day 2021 on its website.
