This is the third consecutive month that Han family models have sold more than 10,000 units, with cumulative sales of 144,520 units since their launch last July, according to data monitored by CnEVPost.

The BYD Han family includes the Han EV, an all-electric version with an NEDC range of 605 kilometers, and the Han DM, a hybrid model with a range of only 81 kilometers on pure electric power.

BYD said today that Han EV sales in November were 10,021 units, the first time they exceeded 10,000 units, up 21 percent from 8,287 units in October.

This means that BYD's Han DM model sold 2,820 units in November, up just 20 units from 2,800 units in October.

In addition to the Han EV and Han DM, BYD is also expected to introduce a model called Han DM-i for the family.

In BYD's product array, the vehicles have EV, DM and DM-i versions, depending on the form of power. The EV stands for pure electric, while the DM and DM-i versions are both hybrid versions, except the latter focuses more on fuel economy.

As reported by yiche.com last month, the Han DM-i version is undergoing road tests and looks almost the same as the Han EV and Han DM, except that the tail badge has been changed to Han DM-i.

BYD said in an announcement filed with the Hong Kong Stock Exchange yesterday that it sold 91,219 new energy vehicles in November, up 242 percent from a year earlier and 13 percent from October.

This included 90,121 passenger cars, and 1,098 commercial vehicles.

Among new energy passenger vehicles, BYD sold 46,137 pure electric vehicles in November, up 153 percent from 18,220 units a year earlier. Its plug-in hybrid vehicles sold 43,984 units in November, up 500 percent from 7,333 units in the same month last year.
