The success of Wuling Hongguang Mini EV has attracted a slew of new players to the mini-electric car market.

Electric vehicle brand Letin announced Thursday that its first all-electric mini car will go on sale on July 30, with a price range of RMB 29,800 ($4,600) to RMB 54,900.

The model is a joint effort between Letin and Hunan TV and is called "Letin Mango".

It measures 3,620*1,610*1,525mm and has a wheelbase of 2,440mm, larger than Mini EV, which measures 2,917*1,493*1,621mm and has a wheelbase of 1,940mm.

The car offers 25kW and 35kW motor options and has three different range versions with NEDC working ranges of 130km, 185km and 300km respectively.

The car supports 5G connectivity, AR navigation, a thermostatic battery system and allows users to choose different wheel sizes.

Letin is a company that started with low-speed electric vehicles, and in 2018 Letin acquired Qinxing Auto to enter the commercial vehicle segment.

In early 2019, Letin acquired Yema Auto to obtain a passenger car production qualification and enter the new energy passenger car segment.

In 2020, Letin starts to enter the new energy vehicle market and will launch a number of models similar to Japan's K-Car.

Letin Mango has a slight advantage over Mini EV in terms of model, power and range, but the price is only RMB 1,000 more expensive than the latter.

However, Mini EV has been on the market for nearly a year, and the price should be lower than RMB 28,800 in some channels.

Mini EV was launched in July last year, and its sales exceeded 200,000 units in only 200 days.

Mini EV sold 29,143 units in June, up 12.56 percent from May, and remains the best-selling new energy vehicle model in China, according to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers.

Tesla Model 3 came in second on the list with 16,515 units sold in June.
