China's imports of automobiles and parts in the first half of the year rose 56.5 percent to $48.32 billion, according to data released Tuesday by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM).

In the first half of the year, the import value of auto parts and accessories was $19.58 billion, up 42.2 percent year-over-year, and the export value was $36.09 billion, up 51.6 percent year-over-year.

At a time when the global auto industry is facing a supply chain crisis including chip shortages and battery shortages, China's auto exports have shown great resilience.
