Voyah, the premium new energy vehicle (EV) brand of Chinese automaker Dongfeng Motor, announced Friday that it will enter overseas markets, but did not reveal which country it intends to enter first.
Voyah CEO Lu Fang said Chinese cars have the strength and confidence to level the world, and Voyah is fully preparing to run into the vast international market while continuing to develop the domestic market, aiming to become a high-end electric vehicle leader.
On July 7, Voyah signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with Dongfeng Motor's international business department, agreeing that both parties will work together to promote the internationalization of Voyah models.
Voyah's first model, the Voyah FREE, is available in extended-range technology and pure electric versions, priced from RMB 313,600 to 333,600 ($48570-51668), with a combined range of 860km. Its competitors include the Li ONE, NIO ES6 and Tesla Model Y.
The Voyah FREE has a length, width and height of 4905/1950/1690mm and a wheelbase of 2955mm, slightly smaller than the Li ONE.
The car is equipped with 3 millimeter-wave radars and 9 cameras and 12 ultrasonic radars, and the active night vision system can identify pedestrians and animals within 150 meters in front of it. It comes with L2+ Advanced Intelligent Driving Assistance as standard across the range.
The extended-range version has an NEDC range of up to 860 km. The all-electric model has a range of up to 505 km and the 4WD version with 475 km.
Its 0-100km/h acceleration time is 4.6 seconds for the extended-range version and 4.8 seconds for the all-electric 4WD version.
The Voyah FREE production vehicle rolled off the production line on June 30 and deliveries are expected to begin in July.
Starting in 2021, Voyah will bring at least one new vehicle to market each year. Over the next five years, Voyah products will cover the sedan, SUV and MPV markets.
