Chinese automaker Chery sold 7,226 new energy vehicles (NEVs) in June, up 158.1 percent year-on-year, according to data released by the company on Monday.
The company sold 33,371 new energy vehicles in the first half of the year, up 212.7 percent from a year earlier.
Chery sold 73,098 all vehicles in June, up 58.3 percent from a year earlier, and from January to June, it sold a cumulative total of 424,457 vehicles, up 80.4 percent from a year earlier.
Its total sales of new energy vehicles this year, including passenger cars and commercial vehicles, reached 40,401 units, up 243.9 percent year-on-year.
The Little Ant achieved cumulative sales of 30,674 units in the first half of the year, an increase of 215.2 percent.
The new model of Little Ant was officially launched recently, offering 6 models with a price range of RMB 59,900 ($9285) - RMB 83,900.
The new car also upgrades the battery and motor, equipped with a new generation of three-in-one motor, and offers two types of NEDC range, which are 301km and 408km.
Up to now, Chery Group has accumulated 9.5 million users worldwide, including 1.8 million overseas users.
