Audi said on April 11 that its first locally produced electric SUV, the e-tron, and the imported e-tron Sportback are available in China.
The e-tron includes five specifications and is priced from RMB 546,800 ($83,398) to RMB 718,800, a price cut of more than RMB 100,000 from the imported version previously sold in China.

The e-tron's length, width and height are 4901/1935/1640mm, with a wheelbase of 2928mm, 12mm taller than the imported version.
The locally produced e-tron uses the MLB evo modified platform used in the imported model. The interior of the two new models is basically the same, with a center console consisting of three screens.
The locally produced e-tron 50 quattro has a maximum power of 230kW, a maximum torque of 540N⋅m and an acceleration time of 7.5s from 0-100km/h.
The car is powered by a 96.7kWh ternary lithium-ion battery from CATL and has an NEDC range of 500km.

The battery pack has a capacity of 95kWh (86.5kWh available) and has a range of 446km under WLTP.
The car supports 11kW AC charging and the battery can be fully charged in 6.1 hours. The battery can be charged from 5 percent to 80 percent in 40 minutes using Super Fast Charge.
The Audi e-tron is expected to compete with other electric luxury brands including the BMW iX3, Mercedes-Benz EQC and Nio ES8, but in terms of price, the e-tron is the most expensive of these models.
The BMW iX3 starts at RMB 399,900 and the Mercedes-Benz EQC at RMB 499,800. The Nio ES8 starts at RMB 468,000 and drops to RMB 398,000 if customers choose Nio's battery rental service BaaS.
