Short sellers are active in the US stock market, for example, has been plagued by short-sellers for a long time and Nio has been shorted as well. How should respond if it also encounters this situation?

In a recent interview with Tencent Tech, Xpeng Chairman and CEO He Xiaopeng responded to this question, saying that no matter what the situation is, Xpeng still needs to maintain the entrepreneurial spirit.

"I wrote an internal letter in November, in which I mentioned that I wanted my colleagues to focus on their own business and not just on the short-term ups and downs of the stock price," he said, adding that "short-term business results can cause the stock price to rise sharply and, likewise, can cause the stock price to fall sharply. The only way to achieve real personal and corporate growth is to focus on the long term gains."

He believes these words apply equally to the mindset companies should have when faced with various capital market anomalies, "We need to clearly understand that the fact that we stand in a good position today only means that we do have the opportunity to do even better in the future."

However, Xpeng is still a startup in stages 1-10 and still needs to maintain the same struggle it has had since it started six years ago, no matter what the circumstances are, he said.

Xpeng shares surged in November, rising nearly 250 percent to above $70 from November 3 to 23, before pulling back about 40 percent to around $40.
