Volkswagen's new all-electric compact SUV, the Volkswagen ID.4, will be released in China on November 3, according to industry media Evzhidao.com.

As an all-electric compact SUV, the Volkswagen ID.4 is based on the ID.CROZZ concept car, with a simple and technologically advanced front styling.

The Volkswagen ID.4 will be the first to launch a rear-wheel-drive version, followed by a four-wheel-drive version, and will also offer multiple range versions for consumers to choose from.

The Volkswagen ID.4's high-voltage battery is positioned at the bottom of the vehicle near the centre, ensuring a low centre of gravity and balanced axle load distribution, resulting in a more dynamic driving performance.

The vehicle will also feature a fully digital cockpit, which will be operated primarily via touch or voice controls.

Both Chinese versions of the VW ID.4 will be equipped with a 204 hp drive motor, a top speed of 160 km/h and a lithium-ion battery.

At the end of September 2020, Volkswagen released the overseas version of the ID.4 globally via online, and this is also the first time the new car will make its debut in China, which will also be produced domestically in the future by SAIC and FAW-Volkswagen respectively.
