The Li ONE saw 3,830 insurance registrations in September, overtaking the Nio ES6 for the top spot in new energy SUVs, Li Auto said, citing data from the China Automotive Technology and Research Center.
Li ONE's insurance registrations from January to September totaled 18,722.
The Nio ES6 had 3,271 insurance registrations in September, while the BYD Tang DM and Tesla Model X ranked third and fourth respectively, with 2,001 and 1,977 insurance registrations.
It seems that most consumers prefer mid-size and mid-large new energy SUVs with more space advantage.
Although the Nio ES6 is slightly lower than the Li ONE in terms of insurance registrations, the higher-positioned ES8 also achieved 1,493 insurance registrations in a single month, meaning Nio's total SUV insurance registrations are still higher than the Li ONE.
The gap between the two companies is expected to widen as the EC6's accumulated orders gradually translate into sales.
However, the fact that the Li ONE alone has achieved such results is a tribute to the brand's efforts at the end of the line.
As of September 30, Li Auto has opened 35 retail centers across the country, covering 30 cities.
In the fourth quarter of this year, Li Auto retail centers will further cover blank provinces such as Shanxi, Jilin, Inner Mongolia, Hainan, Guangxi, Jiangxi, Qinghai, and Ningxia.
Earlier, a Li Auto product plan was exposed on the Internet, and it can be seen that the M01 is the Li ONE that is currently on sale.
And Li Xiang, the founder of Li Auto, has said in public that he plans to launch a large SUV in 2022 that will continue to use extended-range technology powertrain, which is consistent with the model code X01 in the picture.
The new car codenamed X01 is 5,180 mm long, has a wheelbase of 3,100 mm and is positioned as a large six-seat SUV, competing against the Mercedes-Benz GLS, which may be priced at RMB 399,800.
In addition, there are three other models in the picture, the X02, S01 and S0A.
Among them, X02 and S01 are positioned as medium and large six-seat SUVs, priced at RMB 349,800 yuan and RMB 298,800 yuan respectively, aimed at Mercedes-Benz GLE and Tesla Model X.
The S02 is positioned as a mid-sized five-seat SUV, priced at RMB 249,800 yuan, targeting the Model Y.
