Starting from the first bus on April 18, the Pingguoyuan Station of Beijing Subway Line 1 will be closed to cooperate with the construction of the Pingguoyuan Comprehensive Transportation Hub and the transformation of the Pingguoyuan Station of the subway.

To facilitate public travel, a temporary ferry line between Pingguoyuan Station and Gucheng Station will be added during the morning and evening peak hours on weekdays. Opening hours of temporary ferry lines: 6: 30-9: 00 at Pingguoyuan Station and 17: 00-19: 30 at Gucheng Station.

It is expected that by the end of 2021, Pingguoyuan subway station will "evolve" into an integrated transportation hub, serving the 2022 Winter Olympics and Paralympic Games.

By then, not only subway lines 1, 6 and maglev S1 line can be transferred here, but also includes a variety of transportation methods such as taxis, cars, bicycles and so on.

This is expected to improve the public interchange conditions in Pingguoyuan area and become an important transfer center for connections between the West Beijing area and other areas.

Pingguoyuan Station is the starting station of Beijing Subway Line 1, and it is the longest-established subway terminal in China with the longest history.

It was opened on April 23, 1973 with the first phase of the Beijing Subway, 47 years ago.

In 2019, Pingguoyuan Station has an average of 36,000 inbound and outbound workdays per weekday.
