In 2019, the charging infrastructure in China increased by 411,000 units, an increase of 18.1% year-on-year, according to data from the China Charging Alliance.

The ratio of newly added new energy vehicles to charging piles reached 2.9: 1.

As of December 2019, the number of charging piles in China has reached 1.219 million, of which 516,000 are public charging piles, and 703,000 are private charging piles. (2015-2020) "index of 1: 1 plan.

At present, there are nearly 82,000 enterprises in China that include "charging piles, new energy smart charging, and electric vehicle charging" (hereinafter referred to as "charging pile enterprises").

Charging pile companies have maintained steady growth since 2012. The growth rate reached a peak of 51.56% in 2018, and the growth rate dropped to 36.82% in 2019. However, more than 21,000 new charging pile companies were added throughout the year, the largest increase in history.

Nearly 82% of charging pile companies were established within 5 years, but 6,708 companies have been canceled or revoked in succession (accounting for about 8%).

In terms of geographical distribution, Chinese charging pile companies, like new energy vehicle companies, are more concentrated in the three provinces of Guangdong, Shandong, and Jiangsu. According to statistics from the China Charging Federation, the distribution of public charging piles in Guangdong, Jiangsu, and Shandong ranks first, second, and fifth in the country.

It is worth noting that most of the charging pile companies are strong, and more than 40% of the companies have registered capital of more than 10 million.

From the perspective of the nature of the company, limited liability companies account for about 93%, and there are about 2,000 companies that have invested in Hong Kong, Macao, or Taiwan, such as Automobile Industry Co., Ltd.

Up to now, there have been about 460 financing events for charging pile companies, with rounds mostly concentrated on the angel round and round A, accounting for about 30% of the total number of financing rounds.

Since 2014, the charging frequency of charging pile companies has increased significantly. The number of financings in 2017 has been the highest in history, and the number of financings in a single year has reached 95. Since 2020, 7 financing events have occurred, such as Shenzhen Automobile Network Co., Ltd (Car grid).

In terms of intellectual property rights, about 3,700 charging pile companies in China have patent data, and the cumulative number of patent applications has exceeded 100,000, of which more than 4,000 are related to "charging piles", accounting for about 4%.
