Xiaomi EV's phase 2 plant is hiring massively to prepare for mass production.

A subsidiary of Xiaomi has secured a new land plot for RMB 635 million ($88.39 million), which is expected to be used for the third phase of its EV factory.

Phase 2 of Xiaomi EV's factory is expected to be completed next month, as it is about to launch its second model, the YU7.

Xiaomi began building a second factory on a 53-hectare site in Beijing last year, and the latest expansion will see the plant occupy an adjacent plot of about 52 hectares, according to Bloomberg.

Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun is discussing with colleagues in charge of vehicle manufacturing how to further boost capacity.

The new target means that Xiaomi is set to deliver 30,000 units in the next less than one and half months.

Xiaomi EV saw the 100,000th unit of the SU7 roll off the assembly line, with the 100,000th delivery milestone expected to be reached later this month.

Monthly production of Xiaomi SU7 is expected to reach 24,000 units in November-December, with capacity utilization close to 200 percent, according to local media.

Xiaomi's phase 2 EV plant is expected to complete construction of the main structure by the end of this year and is scheduled to be fully built by June 15 next year, according to local media.

Construction of the second phase of Xiaomi's EV factory began on July 26 within 24 hours of a land deal.
