- Xpeng was at 8,100 units, Li Auto 7,500, Zeekr 3,600, Leapmotor 5,200 and Aito 3,000.
- Major EV makers saw increased insurance registrations last week, albeit still at low levels.
China NEV retail at 95,000 in Feb 1-9, down 36% from same period last month
The Chinese New Year holiday from January 28 to February 4 brought disruptions to production and consumption activities.
China EV insurance registrations by brand for week ending Feb 9: Nio 1,100, Tesla 6,200, Xiaomi 4,400, BYD 28,900
- Xpeng was at 3,400 units, Li Auto 4,700, Zeekr 2,400, Leapmotor 2,700, and Aito 1,100.
- The lower numbers persisted because of the disruption caused by the January 28-February 4 Chinese New Year holiday.
China EV insurance registrations for 2 weeks ending Feb 2: Nio 3,300, Onvo 2,480, Tesla 13,400, BYD 68,100
- Xpeng was at 11,100 units, Li Auto 11,000, Xiaomi 8,500, Zeekr 4,500, Leapmotor 9,500 and Aito 7,700.
- Industrial production in China was disrupted by the Chinese New Year holiday from January 28 to February 4.
China NEV retail at 423,000 in Jan 1-19, down 39% from same period last month
Retail sales of all passenger cars in China for the January 1-19 period were 1.05 million units, down 5 percent from a year ago and down 27 percent from a month ago.

- Xiaomi had 5,600 insurance registrations last week, Li Auto 9,500, Xpeng 9,400, Zeekr 3,600, Leapmotor 7,000 and Aito 6,100.
- Nio said it sold over 4,700 units last week, up 145.7 percent year-on-year. The Nio brand was at 2,836 units, and Onvo at 1,913 units.
China NEV retail at 206,000 in Jan 1-12, down 50% from same period last month
Retail and wholesale sales of passenger NEVs in China fell sharply in the January 1-12 period compared to the same period last month.

- Xiaomi had 5,400 insurance registrations last week, Li Auto 7,600, Xpeng 7,400, Zeekr 2,800, Leapmotor 5,200 and Aito 5,000.
- The Nio main brand did not make it to any of the lists shared by Li Auto for the first time.

- Major EV makers saw a significant drop in insurance registrations in China last week, due to the usual slow deliveries at the beginning of the month and the impact of the New Year's Day holiday.
- Xpeng overtook Li Auto at No. 1 in the new brands list for the first time.

Xiaomi had 6,700 insurance registrations last week, Li Auto 13,400, Xpeng 10,100, Zeekr 8,900, Leapmotor 9,200 and Aito 8,200.
