Tesla and its suppliers have replaced some China-made parts with components made elsewhere for cars built in the US, according to the Wall Street Journal.

Deliveries of the facelifted Model Y in China will begin in late February, with the current Launch Series on sale for a limited time until February 28.

Model Y production will be suspended for about three weeks to increase production, and Model 3 production will also be suspended during the Chinese New Year, according to Bloomberg.

Chinese customers who complete their vehicle deliveries between May 25 and June 30 will have the chance to win a free tour of Tesla's Fremont factory in the US.

The production cut is aimed at addressing weakening demand for Tesla's aged model in China, Reuters said.
