Zhao Changjiang has joined Luxeed, the new brand jointly created by Huawei and Chery, as its marketing general manager, according to a local media report.

This highlights potential supply crunches in China's battery sector amid a recent surge of new vehicle launches.

All five brands under Huawei's HIMA business will launch new models in 2026.

The updated Luxeed S7 sedan and updated Luxeed R7 coupe SUV start at RMB 229,800 ($32,130) and RMB 249,800, respectively.

The updated S7 sedan and R7 coupe SUV from Luxeed, as well as the BEV variant of Aito M8, will be launched at the event.

The all-new S7 and R7 are the first models launched by Luxeed in its Phase 2.0, and will feature more Huawei technologies.

Luxeed will invest over RMB 10 billion ($1.4 billion) and increase its R&D team to 5,000 people.

The MPV will be based on Chery's E0X-L platform and is expected to be the first MPV model under Huawei's HIMA business.

Luxeed will begin pre-sales of updated editions of the S7 sedan and R7 coupe SUV on August 8, with official launch expected in September.

Luxeed is offering consumers who buy its cars before July 31 a cash discount of RMB 20,000 ($2,790), becoming the latest participant in China's auto price war.
