Li Auto established its overseas headquarters in Hong Kong earlier this year and is now actively planning to further expand its Hong Kong operations.

All new models planned for launch by Li Auto in 2026 will be compliant with overseas market regulations.

In the Philippines, Li Auto is currently previewing the Li L7 and Li L9 SUV models.

Li Auto opened an R&D center in Munich, Germany, which it said is the first step in its global R&D strategy.

Li Auto has recently created a first-tier division responsible for overseas market expansion, putting a much-changed international expansion plan back on the table.

Li Auto has slowed down its efforts to expand into overseas markets significantly from its plans a year ago and is focusing its resources on the domestic market, according to local media.

Li Auto said its vehicle fleet has reached over 1,000 units in Kazakhstan, and the local after-sales service is in high demand.

Li Auto plans to initially enter Middle Eastern countries including the UAE, Saudi Arabia and possibly some North African countries, with the first model to be the flagship Li L9, according to local media.

In the first two weeks of July, more than 200 Li Auto vehicles were privately exported to destinations dominated by Central Asia and the Middle East, its CEO said.

Li Auto does have plans for overseas markets and is thinking seriously about them, Shen Yanan, co-founder and president of the Chinese electric car company, said Wednesday.
