BYD has rolled out the Sealion 6 in Japan, marking its fifth model in the country.

The Racco is BYD's fifth model in Japan, targeting a popular segment in the country.

BYD Japan's website today showcased the K-Car model, which will make its debut at the Japan Mobility Show 2025 starting October 30.

The Sealion 07 EV, locally renamed Sealion 7, is the 5,000th passenger car sold by BYD in Japan.

BYD registered a record 416 vehicles in Japan in May, with over 240 of them being the newly launched Sealion 7 electric SUV.

The Sealion 07 EV will enter the Japanese passenger car market this year and will be BYD's fourth model there after the Yuan Plus, Dolphin and Seal.

BYD will bring the Tang SUV to Japan to diversify its product matrix there. The Han and Qin sedans will also be brought to Japan, according to local media.

BYD sold 1,084 vehicles in Japan in the first half of this year, up 88 percent year-on-year.

The Seal EV starts at about the same price as the Tesla Model 3 in Japan, BYD's highest price there.

BYD has become the first Chinese automaker to participate in the Tokyo auto show, with the ultra-luxury Yangwang U8 making its overseas debut and demonstrating its tank turn feature.
