Strong demand is prompting BYD to reassess ways to deploy more vehicles in India, where dealers currently have hundreds of bookings, according to Bloomberg.

The target represents a 64% increase from BYD's 2025 sales of 6,107 passenger vehicles in South Korea.

BYD achieved over 200% year-on-year growth in Europe during most months of 2025, whereas Tesla saw declines in every single month.

BYD targets 1.3 million overseas vehicle sales in 2026, representing about 24% growth.

BYD registered 21,133 new vehicles in Europe in November, compared to Tesla's 22,801 units.

In November, BYD Shark sold 3,594 units overseas, bringing its cumulative sales from January to November to 38,266 units.

BYD has become Hong Kong's most popular automotive brand, registering 8,531 new vehicles from January to November.

The Tang L, rebranded as the BYD Atto 8, has been launched in Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait, and Qatar, with upcoming launches in the UAE and Bahrain.

The plant, with an annual designed capacity of 150,000 cars, is BYD's first wholly-owned overseas passenger vehicle manufacturing facility.

BYD has rolled out the Sealion 6 in Japan, marking its fifth model in the country.
