BYD delivered 2,990 vehicles in Cambodia during the first three quarters, marking a 497 percent year-on-year increase.

BYD plans to expand its showrooms in Cambodia to 13 by year-end.

The first phase of the plant is expected to start production in the fourth quarter of this year, with a planned annual capacity of 10,000 units.

So far, BYD has launched the Shark hybrid pickup in Mexico, Panama, Brazil and Cambodia.

Cambodia's Prime Minister met with BYD's general manager of the Asia Pacific auto sales head, saying BYD's plant in Cambodia will supply the local market and exports to international markets.

BYD has previously brought the Atto 3 to several markets including Australia, Singapore, Japan and Costa Rica.
