The ES8 and EC7, Nio's highest priced models, both previously saw wait times reduced from 4-5 weeks to 3-4 weeks on October 11.

Nio pays JAC for each vehicle produced on a per-vehicle basis monthly. It paid JAC an average of about $1,260 per vehicle in 2022.

The Nio F2 plant achieves efficient, flexible production with 756 robots in the body shop for automated production, it said.

JAC plans to sell the assets of two factories that make vehicles for Nio, which the latter may acquire and seek independent EV production qualification, local media said.

Nio is committed to a direct sales network in Europe, and the Firefly project is evaluating multiple channel models in Europe, including direct and dealer models, it said.

After Nio's president said last month that European sales had fallen short of expectations, the company has begun evaluating dealers in key European markets, according to Reuters.

As of October 15, Li Auto was at 17,800 so far this month, Tesla at 8,400, Nio at 5,100 and Xpeng at 4,600 units.

Nio's first chip, a LiDAR master chip, will begin mass production in October, the company previously said.

Nio has filed to use WeLion's semi-solid battery cells in 11 more models, after filing for three other models five months ago.
