Deutsche Bank analysts expect monthly sales of the Nio ET9 to be 1,500 units, saying they appreciate the sedan's elegant design and advanced technologies. They expect Firefly's monthly sales to be 1,500 units as well.

Nio said the 999 units of the ET9's limited edition were sold out on the morning of December 22 Beijing time, with only the standard version now available.

The Firefly brand will rely on local partner outlets for sales in Europe, with construction costs for dedicated swap stations one-third those of Nio.

The Nio ET9 starts at RMB 660,000 under the BaaS battery rental model. Deliveries of the sedan are set to begin in March 2025.

The first Firefly model made its global debut and began pre-sales in China at RMB 148,800 yuan ($20,390), the same as the discounted electric Mini Cooper.

Nio founder William Li has launched personal accounts on X and YouTube, as the company aims to be in a cumulative 25 global markets in 2025.

After launching in China and Europe, Firefly cars may also be available in Southeast Asia and Latin America, but will not enter the US market for now.

Onvo's president re-emphasized that this month's target of delivering more than 10,000 units will be met, after weekly data showed that deliveries remained slow last week.

Nio's battery swap network has completed coverage of 18 of China's busiest highways, reaching 913 stations along them.

On Nio Day 2024, the official launch of the ET9 and the launch of the Firefly brand will mark a significant expansion in the price range covered by Nio's product lineup.
