Nio has agreed to redeem 8.6% equity interests in Nio (Anhui) Holding Co., Ltd., the legal entity of Nio China, triggering speculation that Nio China may soon go public in China.

Bridgewater Associates, the world's largest hedge fund run by billionaire investor Ray Dalio, is now holding shares in Chinese EV maker Nio, despite in a small amount.

Nio said today that its third mass-produced vehicle, the EC6, has started shipping out of the factory and will be delivered to owners soon.

Nio gets about 92 percent of its parts from local production and 8 percent from imports, Shen Feng, Nio executive vice president and chairman of the global quality committee, said at an event in Nanjing on September 16.

A Shanghai court recently ordered a man, who published a false story late last year that Chinese EV maker Nio was negotiating a bankruptcy and liquidation with law firms, to pay Nio 300,000 yuan ($44,400) in damages and to publicly apologize for at least 90 days, according to Tencent Auto.

The body shop at the Anhui JAC factory of Chinese EV maker Nio is automated to a 97.5% level, allowing the body shop, which is capable of rolling out 20 complete vehicles an hour, to be operated by only a dozen workers, according to local media Anhuinews.com.

Zhejiang Founder Motor Co Ltd, one of the suppliers to Xpeng Motors, today announced that it has signed a framework agreement with Weiran Power, a subsidiary of Nio, to supply the latter with flat-wire motors.

Earlier this month, Nio released August delivery figures, with 3,965 units delivered for the month, up 104.1 percent year-on-year. Of these, 2,840 vehicles were delivered for the ES6 and 1,125 for the ES8.

Nio was founded at the end of 2014, 12 years after Tesla, if we take 2012 as the first year of Tesla and 2018 as the first year of Nio, Nio is better at the same age, Nio president Qin Lihong said recently.
