A Leapmotor executive has shared camouflaged images of the new Lafa 5 model, as the hatchback's debut approaches in four days.

Seventy-five percent of the raised funds, or RMB 1.95 billion, will be allocated to developing new EV models and upgrading existing ones.

The Leapmotor Lafa 5 is expected to compete with models including the Volkswagen ID.3, SAIC MG4, BYD Seagull, and Nio Firefly EV.

Leapmotor achieved its fourth consecutive record -high monthly delivery figure. Its new model Lafa 5 will debut at the Munich auto show on September 8.

Leapmotor will first produce its B10 compact SUV at a Stellantis plant in Spain, followed by the B05.

In 2025, the Leapmotor B10 will be available in over 20 countries and regions across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia-Pacific, and South America.

So far this month, Leapmotor has delivered at least 28,659 cars.

FAW plans to acquire about 10 percent of Leapmotor's shares, becoming a strategic shareholder, according to a local media report.

Leapmotor has become the second Chinese NEV maker to achieve profitability on a half-year basis. It has raised its 2025 sales target to 580,000–650,000 units.

The car carrier, chartered from Grimaldi Group, will carry over 2,500 Leapmotor EVs to Europe on its maiden voyage.
