The updated Aion V is GAC Aion's first model to be built in both its China and Thailand factories, and GAC Aion said the model will be available in a battery swap-enabled variant in the future.

GAC Aion's Thailand plant has an annual capacity of 50,000 units in the first phase and will be expanded to 100,000 units in the future.

GAC said its solid-state batteries have an energy density of more than 400 Wh/kg and could easily give an EV a range of over 1,000 kilometers.

GAC Aion has entered into a partnership with an Indonesian company and plans to build an EV factory there.

Hyper said it plans to build 15 charging stations in Thailand this year and 100 fast-charging stations by 2028.

Hycan, previously known as GAC Nio, has sold fewer than 20,000 vehicles annually for the past two years.

The new Aion Y Plus starts at RMB 99,800, RMB 20,000 lower than the previous entry-level price.

GAC Aion's Thailand plant will be built in two phases, with the first phase scheduled for completion in July 2024.

GAC Aion has launched the Aion Y Plus in Hong Kong and gave its Hyper sub-brand's Hyper HT SUV, Hyper SSR supercar their debut in the city.

This is four years and eight months after GAC Aion's first vehicle rolled off the production line in April 2019.
