The BYD Seal 06 GT will be officially launched on October 18, Zhang Zhuo, the head of sales for the new energy vehicle (NEV) maker's marine range, said in a Weibo video today.
The Seal 06 GT made its debut at the Chengdu auto show on August 30 and began accepting reservations at a price range of RMB 150,000 to RMB 200,000 yuan.
The car -- a production version of the Ocean-M concept unveiled at the Beijing auto show in late April -- is based on BYD's latest all-electric platform, the e-Platform 3.0 Evo.
BYD previously said that the Seal 06 GT will be the first GT (Grand Tourer) model built for young people.
